Hardware upgrades

Apparently, Rogers has increased the delay on hardware upgrades from 24 months to 30 months. Almost at the end of the contract. If someone chooses to hardware upgrade at this point that would be another three years added ontop of that.

I luckily was able to get my Galaxy S unlocked and was able to skip out on having to resign. I am just wondering at the end of my contract if I should switch over to Telus or Bell, or even Fido and start to buy my phones outright. But people say that Rogers has the best cell coverage in Canada.

Also on a related tangent, as soon as I got a smartphone I started to use my phone less for calls and more for data. Nali is about the only person I actually talk to on the phone now. I think that's the same for lots of people too. I think people now see their phones as mini computers that just happen to make phone calls.

Android lock screens

I think one of the things I love most about Android is that you can do whatever you want with it. Today I replaced my lock screen with Widget Locker. This is a program that lets you add widgets to your lock screen, so I have access to my google talk program without having to unlock it. I also have a camera widget so I can just take a quick picture without having to unlock it as well.

This blog

I think the great thing about having a blog is I can talk about my ideas/schemes without the confused and bored looks of my friends. Perhaps like my card system idea!

You know on the street when you see someone you worked with at a previous job or went to school with like five years ago? Both people make eye contact and are then forced to have an awkward conversation of what each person has been up to for the past couple of years, and it always ends with a "let's get together sometime and hang out". Which of course no one wants to do. It is a horribly awkward experience all around.

I think a good solution would be for everyone to carry cards in their wallets that say what they've been up to for the past few years and then instead of engaging in a forced conversation, hand each other a card on what they've been doing. You get all the information without having to awkwardly talk to each other. Sort of like a real life version of Facebook!

The Dome

On Wednesday me and Nali went to the Dome. We haven't been there in quite a while and we picked Wednesday because we thought it would be packed with people as it has been for the past couple of years.

However it was *deserted* which makes me wonder if clubbing isn't as popular anymore, or that people have found a new place to go to. If it's the later, I shall feel officially old.

Perhaps Boomers is next!
